DO IT YOURSELF LICE REMOVAL KITS

We’re here to support you!

The Knoxville Lice Clinic At-Home Kits have everything you need to safely and effectively kill lice and their eggs.  We only sell the products that we use for our in-clinic services, so you can rest assured that they really work!  The most time consuming and important step in the do-it-yourself process is the combing. Combing is important to make sure the eggs are removed, even those at the scalp. If you are not using our Slippery Nit Saline Spray, we recommend combing the entire head every day until you have 4 days without seeing a single nit. If you choose a kit that comes with the spray, it will drastically reduce the amount of times you have to comb.

Kits come in multiple sizes and configurations to help you choose what is right for your family.

Lice Removal Kit

If you have one of our Lice Removal Kits proceed to the steps below.

STEP 1: Goop

Apply Treatment Goop thoroughly to dry hair, root to tip, including baby hairs. Let sit for at least 10 minutes, and wash with Clarifying Shampoo or Dawn dish soap. We highly recommend using the Nutrient Conditioner Masque after washing out the Treatment Goop because the clarifier or Dawn soap will remove a lot of the natural oils on your scalp.  The masque replenishes oils to lower the amount of itching.    Dry hair completely before beginning comb out.

STEP 2: Comb out

Divide DRY hair into four portions and clip to keep it out of the way. Measure the middle part from the forehead above the nose to the middle of the neck, and side to side from ear to ear.

Start at the bottom of the head, right above the neck. Take down and comb portions of an inch at a time. Put the hair above it back in the clip so you won’t get it mixed up.

This MUST be done every day. Try to go through the entire head. It will take between 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of the head.

The day you begin is Day 1. Comb through the hair every day until you go four days without seeing a nit. On days 1, 10 and 20, use goop. This will kill anything that might have hatched from a missed nit.
